Little Ones was founded out of a desire to share easy to understand, practical information and guidance to parents and therapists.
Kate has over ten years experience working with young children. She takes a holistic approach to therapy, working with the child and their support system to develop practical and functional intervention plans that can be incorporated into their daily lives. Kate provides parents with strategies to improve their children’s skills, giving them confidence to participate in activities important to them. Kate has a particular interest in supporting children to thrive in their natural environment be that home, school, childcare or in the community.
Kate enjoys building relationships with children and families to support the best outcomes through occupational therapy. Most recently she has focused on supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays, including toilet training, feeding and mealtime challenges in the early years, as well as social and behavioural difficulties within school and play. Kate is also able to administering assessments to support in the diagnosis of ASD.
Much of Kate’s career has been spent at AEIOU Foundation for Children with Autism where she initially worked as an Occupational Therapist providing direct intervention and progressed into the role of Manager, Clinical Services. She also has experience in community therapy and private practice. Delivering therapy to children from birth into their teenage years in clinic and community settings.
Outside of OT Kate’s two young daughters keep her very busy and you will often find her in various parks across Brisbane over the weekends.
